I had a great day today. Today I went on exchanges with Elder Vawdrey in the area (he is one of the Elders that was hot tubbing my first transfer!) Elder Vawdrey is a great missionary. He has really turned around. The day started out really slow. We had an appointment cancel and things this morning didn't seem to be going anywhere. Then this afternoon we had a miracle! We had a lesson with our investigator Mark (we - Me and Elder Redd - found him tracting). We had previously had 2 lessons with him, and he is awesome! Today we watched the Restoration DVD with him. During the movie I had the strong impression to at least extend a "soft" baptismal commitment to him after the movie. Then I had the thought to pick a date just in case - the date I picked was May 29th. I'm so glad that I took time to listen for the spirit. After the film was through I asked Mark what his thoughts or feelings were. He said something like "yeah it's what you've been teaching me so far". Then we asked again "but what were your feelings?" He simply said "Well I think I need to be baptized!" We couldn't believe it! I extended the baptismal commitment and he said yes! Then we took some time to talk about baptism. Then Elder Vawdrey told him the importance of setting a date for his baptism - to work towards. He turned to me and said "We would like to set your date for..." and I was prepared to say "May 29th!" He said yes! It was a really great experience. The spirit was there. As I was bearing my closing testimony, a little Mexican man came to the door (that was open) holding a big case of strawberries and yelled "strawberries!" totally interrupting my testimony! It was funny.
