February 19, 2011
Things have been going well. This week it has been raining non-stop! Today we didn't have plans until the evening and we got a call from E. Wickel around 12:00 pm. He asked if we were doing anything at 2:30 pm because Veronica was going to the temple for the first time to do baptisms for the dead. So me and E. Neiufi took BART to Oakland and went to the temple with Veronica. It was good. I felt really bad because we were super late - BART took a little longer than we expected. But it was good. We have had a lot of good things happen lately. Our recent convert Jesse Taufa referred us to two people this week in Redwood City and we've begun teaching them - Leti Pasi and Anthony. Also last week, Meisi, a member in the YSA ward introduced us to Marta - a woman that she is a caregiver to. Marta is white, but we taught her the first lesson then passed her off to the English Elders. Marta is golden! She lives in a handicap home for people with special needs (she is in a wheelchair, but is mentally healthy) . During our lesson we needed a 3rd male, so a guy named Kerry that lives there (who is not mentally healthy) sat in. He is hilarious! We said we were going to pray, so he runs out of the room and comes back with a lit Virgin Mary candle and a stick of burning incense! It was funny. Meisi was embarrassed.
