Hey Family!
So it sounds like things are going well. I always love reading your emails. So things are good here in the city! Other than I gave myself the dorkiest haircut ever this morning things are well. Fall in San Francisco is beautiful! It has been almost 90 degrees today! We are finally getting a summer! It has seriously been cold and foggy for the past 3 months, but lately it has been great!
Our investigators are doing well. Matt Garcia is currently in Disneyland, but is still super solid to be baptized on October 9th. He comes back on Thursday, and we have a lesson with him on Friday. Then on Sunday we are going to watch Conference with him, then take him to see a baptism of one of Elder Kesler's investigators in his last area in Danville, and after the baptism on the way back to San Fransisco, we are taking him to the Visitors Center! It is going to be a great day! Matt is so prepared and ready to be baptized.
We met with Willie 3 times this week, and at the 3rd lesson he told us that he doesn't want to learn anymore about the prophet Joseph Smith, and he doesn't want us to come back for awhile. He says that he needs to "think about the things that we have been teaching him". We think that he got a hold of some anti material. We are having his fellowshipper stay in contact with him.
Other than that things went really well the rest of the week. We are teaching a new part member family. They are from somewhere in Asia. They speak Hmong. The husband is a member and the wife isn't. Her name is Pah, and his name is Pom. They are also about to have their first baby in 2 months. They are a great couple, and Pah really has desires to learn. She comes to church with her husband very faithfully.
So I am super excited for Conference as well! It is always something to look forward to. I can honestly say that for both of the conferences on my mission, I have successfully stayed awake 100% of the time for both! It is so good.
So October is a crazy month for our mission. We have Zone Conference next week, and a member of the 70 is touring our mission. Then on top of that, since we are not going to be able to train to much at our zone conference (because the member of the 70 will do most of the conference), we are having an additional zone conference. Then even on top of that, we have another 4 day training meeting this month. So it will be a great month!
Well family I love you and hope that you have another great week!
-Elder Cook
