February 9, 2011

Well things are still going pretty good. I'm still getting used to being the only white person in the ward. It's really fun being in the Tongan program. E. Neiufi is a really hard worker and he's teaching me a lot. He is even teaching me a little bit of Tongan. I can count to 10, say the name of our church, ask people what their name is, where they are from, and things like that. The Tongan members are great! They are very kind, and they know how to do missionary work. They are really good at fellowshipping investigators. We've been teaching Sione Tongamoa (the guy we found by talking to him on the street) and he already knows a lot of people in the ward (all the Tongans in the Bay Area seem to know each other). We had a great lesson with him last night, and set a baptism date for him on the 19th of March. He is great! He really wants to make changes in his life, and loves and understands the scriptures very well! So today was our first day of another 3 day leadership conference. This time Bro. Tracy Watson came to train us. He is the "Director of Proselyting" and was a primary author of Preach My Gospel.
