November 24, 2010
So things have been going great here in Concord. I'm really starting to love this area. Yesterday I was on 24 hr exchanges with Elder Williams (it was crazy being on exchanges with someone I went to high school with!) and we taught the first lesson to a brand new investigator named Alexa. We did what we call a "pg 172" referral seeking activity with Alexa's friend Brooke - who is leaving on her mission in a few weeks. Brooke invited Alexa to church to hear her speak, and Alex loved it. Our first lesson yesterday went great! We invited her to be baptized and she said yes! It was great. Today was also great. This morning we had choir practice. Our zone is singing Christina's hymns at the Danville town square lighting. It's a huge event in Danville where people will be able to see us missionaries in a non-threatening environment and feel the spirit. After choir practice President Wade interviewed Bill Scott to be baptized. There have been a lot of concerns brought up about Bill being baptized by Bishop Carter. Bill asked Bishop for financial help and Bishop was really worried that Bill wants to get baptized only because he wants help/money. So President interviewed him and after the interview he said "I see no reason for that man to not get baptized". President said that he is super ready. After the interview President took me and E. Wickel out to lunch.
