Hey there family,
Well, things are going great! This week was a little slower, but still good. We seem to be struggling a bit with our investigators. They don't have as much fire as I wish they did. My focus the past couple of days has been to get our investigators progressing (and not "fence sitting"), and to find more people to teach. This coming week we are starting our new volunteer job at the Brentwood Library! It will be fun. It's only once a week, but it will be good, and who knows what might come out of it? We are also volunteering at the local Catholic Church, by helping them serve lunch to the local needy people in Oakley.
This week will be exciting because we are going to the temple to do baptisms with Jennie, and with Denise - both for their first time! We are excited. All of the recent converts are doing so good! Denise just shines every time that we see her. You can really see, and feel the difference that the gospel is making in her life. On Sunday the 14th, Bishop asked all 3 of the recent converts (Steve, Denise, and Jennie) to speak in sacrament meeting! It will be a great missionary oriented meeting. We are now teaching Jennies sister Mary Beth. Mary Beth came to Jennies baptism, felt the spirit, and LOVED it! She is reading the Book of Mormon every single night, and is excited to take the lessons. The only problem is, is that she lives in Pleasant Hill, about 30 minutes away! We told her that there are missionaries there that would love to teach her, but she said that she doesn't want to be taught by them, she wants to be taught by us! So we are going to begin the lessons, and she is going to come to church with Jennie, then when she feels comfortable with everything, Jennie is going to go to Mary Beth's ward in Pleasant Hill, with her and make the transition. So it will be good.
We continue to work with Cecilia and Lou (my mission grandparents!) A few days ago Cecilia told me, "Your the best grandchild I could ever have, because I didn't have to give birth to your parents!" I love her! She is reading the scriptures and praying everyday, and seeing the blessings and miracles of it! She would be at church more often if her health would permit.
So things are good! I'm just trying to keep up with my companion - he is the most Christ-like person that I think I've ever met! He's the best. I've noticed lately that this REALLY is the Lords work. Being in this area for so long has really been a blessing, because I've been able to see the Lord directing and guiding the work. All that I have to do is be obedient and worthy of the spirit, and have faith and be enthusiastic and diligent, then see the miracles take place!
I hope that you all have a great week! Love ya!
