Letter to Home - March 29, 2010

Hey Family!

This week has been a good one.  We got bad news on Friday - Aunt Charlotte did not pass here baptism interview.  She is such a sweet heart... I bet she was just really nervous.  But the zone leaders said that she will definitely get baptized, she just needs some more time.  So hopefully in the next few weeks she will be baptized.

So this area is awesome and I love it, but it's a little strange.  We are teaching great people.  It's just weird because 3 of our investigators want to be baptized (they will get baptized tomorrow if we let them), but they just don't understand the important, necessary steps they need to take - like coming to church!  One of our investigators - April - needs to get married before she gets baptized, but she loves everything we teach.

Jerry and Martha are doing great!  Jerry is totally prepared to be baptized.  Martha is still the cutest little old Mexican lady I know, but still doesn't understand the importance of baptism by authority (even though she may be more excited for Jerry's baptism that he is!)  We are going to watch general conference at there house on sat and sun.  On Sunday, Martha said she is going to make me a birthday cake!  Oh, and you might not want to send my package to Pittsburg.  Its just not a good idea.  I would definitely send it to the mission home.

Well I am just loving my mission!  It took me a while to be able to honestly say that I really love it out here.  There is so much to learn and so much work to be done.  No matter where you are, there is always someone around you that needs your help, and in some way you can help them come unto Christ.  I love the words of the hymn "Lead Kindly Light".  That's how I feel most of the time.  I don't know what the Lord has in store for me, but as I trust in him and move forward, one step at a time, I know that i will fulfill my purpose.

I love you family!  I loved the pictures that you sent!
