November 12, 2010

Things have been pretty good here in the Walnut Creek Zone. It has still been a little hard adjusting, but so far I love it here. So, the day I found out I would be covering the Walnut Creek Singles ward, I was excited, because Jennie Giotta's (convert in Brentwood that I baptized) family lives in Pleasant Hill (in the singles ward boundary) and she was super interested in learning about the church. Me and E. Malani actually taught her a couple times at Jennie's house in Oakley. So today we stopped by to try and contact Jennie's sister (Mary Beth) and invited her to the singles ward. We pulled up to her house, and I couldn't believe who was on the doorstep! Jennie was visiting her parents, and we caught her at the perfect time! She saw us walking up to the house and ran up to us. She said "Am I allowed to give you a hug!?" I told her I am still a missionary. We had a good talk. We asked if Mary Beth was home but she left for college a few days ago. Then the big surprise came. Jennie said "Let me show you my baby!" I couldn't believe it - she wasn't pregnant when I left Brentwood! I was happy for her and Nick, and it was so good to see Jennie.
