Hey Family!
Ok, the big news first...I got transferred! I am leaving the big city. I have mixed emotions. I am going to Walnut Creek - the same stake that San Ramon is in! I am going back to my roots. I'm excited to get back to the East Bay. Serving here in San Francisco was quite the experience. I would say that I have had some of the best experiences of my mission here and definitely some of the hardest. But overall it has been a great 6 months. Walnut Creek is a super nice city. Its in the same valley as San Ramon, and its a very safe area. It is going to be a culture shock going there - seeing houses with yards again! I will still be a Zone Leader over there, so I will cover a family ward and also the singles ward in the stake. My new companion is Elder Wickel. I know him a little bit and he is an awesome missionary. He has been out only 6 weeks less than me.
One of the hardest parts about leaving is the amazing investigators that we have been teaching. We have 4 baptisms coming up in the next 3 weeks, so I will be back soon. We have seen a lot of miracles in this area.
So, Pa Lor didn't get baptized. She is still solid, and will definitely get baptized without a doubt, but she is super pregnant, and is going to have her baby soon. She wont be able to get baptized until after her baby comes. She felt a little rushed and wants some more time to learn.
Everyone else is doing great! We took Zoe to the temple visitors center on Saturday, and she loved it! She is one of the most prepared investigators I have ever taught! Shes getting baptized on Nov. 13th. We had our Sunset Ward Halloween party on Saturday as well, and she came and loved it!
Maddie Miles is also getting baptized on Nov. 13th. The whole family (the less active mom and daughter, Maddie, and the non member step dad), came to a baptism, so they could see what it was like. The non member step dad (Mike) really felt the spirit, and is planning on coming to church next week!
SO about the shirts - I don't need them in a hurry, so Ill take some pictures, and get the sizes for next week.
Well, I love you family! I hope that all is going well!
-Elder Cook
