Today something crazy happened! So last Monday, I accidentally washed my Muni/BART pass (the mission buys them every month and they cost $70 each!) so after our lesson with Jimmy today at the downtown teaching office, we went to the Powell BART station to get me a new pass. The place that you get new bus passes is the same place where you can buy tickets for the SF historic rail cars, so there are always a lot of tourists there. After I traded my damaged pass for a new one, we were walking back to the BART station and at the end of the ticket line I saw someone who looked very familiar. I looked at him, then he looked at me the same way. He said "Hey! Are you Tommy!?" It was Mark Hales' Dad! What are the odds?! I always wondered if I was going to run into someone I know on my mission. We could only talk for a while because we had to catch the train, but it was good to see him. So anyway, things are going good. Jimmy is ready to be baptized on Saturday! We had a good lesson today. We are getting to know the area a little better - one of our goals is to get the area book organized - it's a bit of a mess. My toe is getting better - I am still in sandals, and I'm supposed to soak it 3 times a day. So all is well. It's just great being a missionary.
